45 in a 60

That's right, I got a speeding ticket. Me with the perfect driving record. The very nice police officer said I could go to traffic school and keep my clean record. The boys were in the car with me, and this all disturbed Owen very much, who could not understand the man coming to the window, and why weren't we getting out, and what was that noise, and why was Mommy naughty? I told him it was just fun (oh, the lies we tell our children), not scary, and that sometimes Mommy drives too fast and she was a little naughty, and she got a ticket, but it's okay. He eventually relaxed a little bit, and when I picked him up from the sitter's, he yelled out, "You naughty, Mom! You drive too fast, and get a ticket, and that man said, 'Slow down!'" He immediately tattled on me to Keith, even though I'd already told him. So no secrets in our house! I guess Owen came to terms with having a naughty mother, although it bothered him at first and he kept telling me that only Daddy was naughty, not Mommy.

Keith's cold is now full-blown flu, and he is very, very ill. We didn't go to the matinee on Monday (I went shopping by myself, just as good). The bad part about Keith being sick, besides the obvious sickness, is that he has the lowest pain tolerance I've ever known. Yes, he's my big, strong husband. But OH. MY. WORD. Every other minute something new is hurting, throbbing, aching, swelling. And the coughing, my word, the coughing. It's driving me crazy. I hope he feels better soon, because he's miserable, but also because he's making me a little cr.a.aa.a.a.zzy.

Today Ari Kyle is six months old! My little guy. I want to take his picture and put up his formal 6-month letter tonight. Finally, the sun is peeking out, so I hope to take him outside and take some nice pictures.

What else is going on? Today is George Washington's birthday, so that's good news. Also, Betsy is dilated to 3, which is very exciting. Baby Taya will be here before we know it! All this waiting, and here she comes! I will be going to visit them shortly, and I will be driving by myself, so there may or may not be more speeding tickets to follow.
