I do I want!

Yesterday we went to Wal-Mart to take advantage of their half-off Christmas specials. We bought the boys a Christmas tree for their bedroom. We got it for $7.88. Can't beat that for a 6-foot Evergreen.

I was up early today to go to the gym. When I arrived, there were no lights. There was electricity to the machines, but no televisions, music, or lights. Everyone was working out in the dark. It was silent. Very creepy. I stayed.

After a run-in with RD last week, I've decided that I will no longer give extra effort to my job. I was previously a team player and an asset to the department and all the other various manager lingo that is bestowed upon those that they refuse to promote. But no more. From now on I am just like every other slacker currently in their employment. I will check blogs and email and make personal phone calls and take pens home, and I may even eat someone else's lunch out of the fridge. I'm kidding! No really, I'm kidding. But I will do just enough to get by.

Owen has a new phrase. "I do I want." He uses it to interject his attitude whenever he's being reprimanded. "Owen, don't kick." "I kick I want!" This is the point where I tell him that he doesn't do what he wants. I say, "Owen, you're not the boss." And he says, "Just you and Dad and Leanna!" So he knows. But he doesn't fear. "I DO I WANT!"

Ari sucks his fingers. Two of them. But no binky yet. If only this helped him sleep through the night. He is up 3 to 4 times every single night. It's like my worst nightmare. I think he may be getting a little too used to waking up, because he certainly doesn't need to eat every hour or two. I will wait until his check-up on January 10th to discuss with the pediatrician and see what he thinks. Until then, many more interrupted nights of sleep in my future.
